Attending A Traditional Marriage in 2026 Since 2011
I was opportune to attend a traditional marriage at my place.
This is the first time since 2011.. that's quite a long time though.
A family member was getting married and we all had to go down there and support her.
Although I was having an exams that day , I still had to move there as soon as I was done.
My journey lasted about 2hours, which I also had to stop by at my mom's place.
Actually for me, I was going there for the couples , I was going there to see my grandma.
I missed her 🥹
So , from my mom's place , we arrived there 30 minutes later. That's about 2 and a half hour in total. It wouldn't have been that long if I went straight to the village.
I thought I was late, but the party was just getting started.
The Wedding was done at another Local Government Area. And the Traditional Marriage was scheduled for the same day.
Some guest had already arrived and every decor and sound systems were all intact.
And introduction of the MC ( Moderator in Charge) was made.
The chairman of the occasion also introduced, which he made his opening speech and also declared to occasion open.
I was not present at the spot but I could see everything from the window of our house. If my older cousins were with me, just maybe I would have better to go out there with them. But all I saw was strange old faces 🥲.
Anyways the groom was called to dance in , then because of that , I was called out by my aunt to take pictures.
Village people that cannot take proper picture??
See me looking like corpse in one of the photos they took of me...
I immediately told them "delete sio'.
Any ways after that , I took up the role to take pictures.
Those are the pictures I used in writing this post.
After the groom was introduced, the bride was finally called to dance in.
They did all thier gragra.
The guest ate , drank and made merriment with the families of the wedded ones.
As the celebration was drawing to an end, guest were made to present thier gifts, of which granny was not left behind.
She presented her gift and token just like every other guests.
The celebration was colourful but the most outstanding colors of the day were blue , red and white.
You can definitely spot that in outfits.
The event came to and end after the chairman of the day gave his closing remarks, prayers were made as well.
Then the DJ took it upon himself to give us nice jams till everything was wrapped up.
