Telling stories with art

Killings every now and then.
I came across a video of a woman holding her dead son , killed by bandits in Northern Nigeria.
I could see how she couldn't be comforted.
She couldn't cry, shout, or do anything.
That what is called pain in the next level.
Felt but cannot be expressed.

There was a mass shooting of innocent people, some dead and some badly injured.

This same group of criminals took to their social media handle to announce this devilish act before now. They announced that there would be killings done by them immediately after palm Sunday.
The media shows that genocide against Christianity is going on in my country, with clear indications. But the government would arrest anyone who talks about it if they can.
Non of those that were killed were Muslims, all of them christians.
Tomorrow, they'll come out and call us brother, united Nigeria. One Nation.
If this is how one nation is, then evil is right.

I don't know when this would end in Nigeria, because it keeps getting worse.

Anyways, I captured the moment with this piece of art.
I'm contemplating on sharing the step by step progress of the art. But that is not the main aim of this post.

If you're in a country where genocide against a particular set of people is going on, speak up, do not support your people if they are the ones launching this attacks.
Condemn such act and make sure the perpetuators are brought to judgement.

Anyways, this is the drawing progress ...

I started with the head, doing a sketch of the screenshot I got from the screenshot from the video.

After completing the sketch, I did the shading. Starting from the head and moving towards the lower parts of the body.

Here, I completed the shading of both the mother and the
son. I did the blending and detailing and highlights.
I wrote my username.
