Sometimes a Person Is Not Asking for Love, but for Attention
A few days ago, I was in the market. A little child was walking with his father. He kept talking, asking questions, and pointing at different things around him. But his father was busy on his phone. After a few minutes, the child became quiet. Then he deliberately dropped something on the ground just to make his father look at him. At that moment, I realized that sometimes people do not create problems for attention — they simply want to be noticed.
The same thing happens in many relationships.
The lines in the picture touched my heart deeply:
"I looked around again and again just to see you,
The person who needed your attention slowly died from your ignorance."
Some people truly do not need grand love stories; they only need attention. They want someone to listen carefully to their words, notice the change in their tone, and understand the silence hidden behind their smile. But when they are ignored again and again, something inside them slowly starts breaking.
I experienced this with one of my friends. He was always the one making everyone laugh. In every gathering, he talked the most and acted cheerful all the time. I used to think he was simply very energetic. But one day, he suddenly said to me, “No one ever asks me if I’m okay.” That sentence stayed in my mind for a long time. It made me realize that sometimes the people who smile the most are actually the ones craving attention the most.
Today, everyone says they are busy. Life moves fast, and people hardly find time for each other. But the real problem is not busyness — it is carelessness. We often assume that if someone is quiet, they must be fine. In reality, silence is sometimes the loudest cry for help.
Some people keep sending messages, keep trying to start conversations, or get upset over small things. Others call them dramatic or overly emotional. But often, they are only trying to see whether they still matter to someone or not.
I have personally gone through a phase where I was always available for everyone, but when I needed someone, most people were suddenly too busy. That is when a person understands that loneliness is not the hardest feeling. The hardest feeling is realizing that you are no longer important in someone’s life.
Relationships are not maintained only through big promises or fancy words. Sometimes, a simple question like “Are you okay?” can heal someone’s entire day. Listening carefully, understanding someone’s silence, or replying on time can also be forms of love.
We need to understand that not everyone is strong inside. Some people look completely normal from the outside while silently fighting battles within themselves. And strangely, those are often the people who complain the least.
If there is someone in your life who constantly seeks your attention, do not immediately think they are annoying or dramatic. Maybe they are only trying to feel that they still matter to someone.
Because the truth is, people do not only break from lack of love — sometimes, they break from lack of attention too.

Congratulations!
