The main purpose of going to Jaflong in Sylhet was to get close to nature and see the mountains in a new way and capture that view through photographs. As soon as I stepped into Jaflong, I realized that photography here is not just about picking up a camera and clicking; The real work here is to take time and observe the surroundings. The mountains, the river, the sky all together, a kind of serene silence, which is etched in the mind even before it is captured in the picture frame.

I started collecting photography from the riverside. The clear waters of the Pine River drew me forward again and again. At first I just noticed the color of the river, the flow of water and the position of the rocks without taking pictures. Then I chose a place where the water of the river would be in front, sand or rock in the middle, and mountains behind. It creates three layers in the image foreground, middle, and background. These layers gave the image depth and made the mountains stand out.

When photographing mountains, I don't always look at the top. Sometimes its relationship with the slope of the hill, the trees and the sky becomes more important. Sometimes I put the mountains on one side of the frame to give more space to the sky, and sometimes I kept the mountains away by bringing the lower green part forward. This gives the image a sense of movement, as if the eye is traveling through the frame on its own.

One of the great advantages of photography in Jaflong is the natural light. The morning light is soft and warm, deepening the colors of the mountains. The blue color of the sky can be seen very clearly even though the afternoon light is relatively harsh. I tried to change the position according to the direction of the light, so that the shape and structure of the mountain is clear by combining the shadow and the light.

Jaflong taught me one thing very clearly in terms of the concept of photography not everything needs to be captured in one frame. Rather, it is better to choose a specific story. Sometimes that story can be the relationship between mountains and rivers, sometimes the coexistence of people and nature, and sometimes just the silence of the mountains standing under the sky.

Placing people or small objects in the picture makes the scale of the mountain more apparent, so in some frames I deliberately placed distant people or boats.I try to avoid unnecessary things while doing photography. Where electric wires, garbage or irrelevant objects are visible, I have changed the position. It makes the images clearer and more meaningful. Sometimes I took pictures from a low, sometimes a little higher place, so that the same mountain is captured from different perspectives.

This entire photography collection experience has taught me the importance of patience and observation. A mountain does not chase itself, so it cannot be chased. A real scene is captured inside the camera only if you see and feel it with time. The hills of Jaflong are not just a location to me,Rather, it has become a living lesson in understanding nature through photography.
