Meunasah Reuleut Timur

Friends, this time I will show you Meunasah (Mushalla), a center of worship for Muslims in the village of Reuleut Timur. People usually refer to it as Meunasah Reuleut Timu. This Meunasah has two floors, with the main floor used as a place of worship, while the second floor is used as a hall or meeting room.

In terms of shape and design, the Meunasah Reuleut Timur building still has the same characteristics as other meunasah in Aceh, especially North Aceh. However, this Meunasah has undergone more modern changes and improvements, with a permanent structure and rooms that are fully equipped with facilities similar to those of a mosque. Only in terms of shape is it similar to a traditional Acehnese house, but the materials used are modern. Another difference from the meunasah of the past in Aceh is that there are no longer any pillars supporting the main floor, whereas the meunasah in Aceh used to be shaped like a large hall.

In front of the meunasah is a concrete gate that serves as the entrance to the courtyard of the eastern meunasah reuleut. The gate is square in shape, with two pillars on either side, each topped with a small golden dome. The pillars and the gate structure are white in color.

The Meunasah courtyard is quite spacious and can accommodate many four-wheeled vehicles in front of it, almost the entire courtyard is paved with paving blocks.

From the front of the meunasah, we can see that it is still under construction, as indicated by the unpainted meunasah building and several other buildings that are still partially standing.

On the northeast side of the meunasah courtyard, there is a concrete hall that is usually used as a place to rest and hold small meetings. The hall is still under construction because it has not been painted yet.

On the northern side of the meunasah courtyard, there are several adjacent buildings. These buildings are the wudhu (ablution) facilities and toilets. Each room is divided into two sections, one for female worshippers and one for male worshippers. The wudhu facilities are further divided into two sections, one with faucets and the other with basins or wudhu pools.

The prayer room can be said to have been designed in a modern style, as can be seen from several features, starting from the granite flooring, the calligraphy paintings on the walls, and the plain ceiling with only lights and fans attached to it. The room feels elegant and has a beautiful color scheme, both in terms of the motifs and the calligraphy.

Sometimes some meunasah do not have a mihrab room, but this meunasah does. The mihrab room is quite large and the walls are decorated with calligraphy and Islamic motifs. In addition, inside the mihrab room there is also a pulpit, a place for the imam to stand, glass shelves containing the Quran, and so on. On the wall above the mihrab door, there is a running text display showing information and the time. As it is still under construction, this prayer room does not yet have air conditioning and still uses several fans to cool the room.
