I am confused. Is it lamb or lamp? Who sang this song? Please, what really did Mary have as her own?.

At the end of my research, I realised that Mary had a little lamb and not a lamp.

Back then, in the year when I was in nursery school, I was unable to sing this song; not only me, but almost all my classmates. Whenever this song was called to be sung, I and my mate would be following the rhythm, pretending to sing the song, but we never knew the lyrics.
