Steemit Learning Challenge-S27W5; Physiofit; Plantar Fasciitis Relive
Greetings to All Friends,
I am once again participating in another week of Steemit Learning Challenge – Season 27, Week 5. First of all I'm very thankful and grateful to @ashkhan Who provides that opportunity to us that we learn related to the physiotherapy field and share our experience with others.
This week's challenge is very interesting and unique because in this challenge we can study a case and find a patient and their disease diagnosis and treatment.
This time I chose a case which is very common in who uses computers very much and household women and it is Tennis Elbow.
Task 1: You have to find a case study like I have shared, then confirm the diagnosis of the disease, and then add 3 to 4 causes.
Patient Case:
My patient is a 35 year old man, who's been working as a graphic designer for the last 6 months he is suffering pain in his right elbow exterior part. At first he can feel pain only when he uses mouse and using keyboard. But now he can feel pain every time when he uses his hand to pick anything and even a cup of tea. Now he is suffering lots of pain.
Patient Illness:
Suffering pain in his right arm exterior part.Weak clamp
Facing difficulty in weight lifting and write turn
Continuous uses of the hand can increase pain
Diagnosis:
After inspection and seeing all the symptoms I diagnosed that the patient has Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow).
Causes:
Repeatedly use if wrist or arm
Especially occurring in those persons who uses computers and plays rocket.
Continuous Pressure
High weight on arm or wrist and pressure
Wrong Method to Carry or Grab
For example lifting heavy things in wrong style and position.
Muscle Imbalance or Posture:
Vitiation of posture and muscle imbalance.
Task 2: You have to share symptoms of your patient history and confirm that diagnoses of the given cases study.
Symptoms of Patient:
Pain in exterior side of elbow which also transfers to down side of the wrist.
Sense weak clamping
Feeling pain the time when you catching some things and the when you closed your clutch
Difficulty to move the wrist in front and when you bend.
Assessment:
Senses tenderness on the palpation in the upper lateral epicondyle.
Cozen's test and Mill's test both are positive.
Clear pain in wrist extension
Low Grip strength
These all symptoms and assessment proves that the patient has tennis elbow.
Task 3: You have to find the best protocol any disease that can be cured with physiotherapy and then perform the exercises of your specific task. It would be better to perform the exercises and share videos or pictures while performing and then review after getting treatment. (Try to use 3 methods).
1. Cryotherapy (Treatment using Icing)
Before starting the session is it mandatory to apply ice for 10 to 15 minutes that will help to less the swelling. It will really help to decrease the pain and inflammation.
2. Stretching Exercises
Wrist Extensor Stretch:
Straight the arm and bend the wrist to downward and apply pressure using other arm. Repeat three times a day for 30 seconds.
Finger Stretch:
Place the rubber band in your fingers and extend the fingers from outside. Daily ten repeatation and do 2 times in daily.
Wrist Flexion Stretch:
First flex the wrist to upwards and then downward using a straight arm position. Daily doing three sets and doing 10 times in every set.
3. Strengthening Exercises
Eccentric Wrist Extension Exercise:
Hold a cheap water bottle 1-2 kg and slowly slowly downward the wrist and again back to upwards.
Daily three sets and doing 15 repetitions in every set.
Forearm Pronation & Supination:
Bend and straight the wrist slowly slowly using holding small stick and small hummer in hand.
Do it 2 times in every day for 5 to 10 minutes.
4. Taping & Ultrasound Therapy:
Use of tennis elbow strap or kinesio tape during session. Tissue healing with the help of ultrasound therapy.
I personally perform many of these exercises to understand the benefits of these exercises and I feel very better in my elbow using these exercises and feeling relaxed.
After 4 weeks doing these exercises the patient feels clear pain decrease in elbow. Strong the wrist grip and you can do every day work again normally. Just like a normal person.
This challenge increases and understanding our knowledge, practice and physiotherapy treatment. I invited all of my friends to participate in this amazing challenge.
I personally invite @rmj, @mohammad1076 and @emmaboy23 to join it and share their knowledge with us.
Best Regards,
@abdullaht

Thank you for understanding the challenge and sharing your assignment. I hope you will enjoy this week's challenge and try to implement it in your life if you encounter a similar case.
