True Colours 8: Curation Report - February Week 1

Love, Laugh, Create, Live!
INTRODUCTION
February, for many it is still winter, which not only brings cold weather and worries, but also particularly beautiful photos. Unfortunately, it was difficult to always be able to see them. What is art on Steemit without the ability to show it?
During the first week, we were delighted to reward a particularly large number of artistic people and... commenters. The support people gave each other in difficult situations is also worth mentioning and is definitely one of the strongest characteristics of smaller, topic-related communities. If it comes to (supportive) commenting, we also did our share.
What made it difficult for us was the lack of hashtags or hashtag abuse. Make sure to use a hashtag that fits the topic of the post! This also increases one's own visibility and the chance that something will stand out, be read and be found.

Nothing is worse than suffering from an artist's block. This is what this new artist likes to share in his introduction post. We love to stimulate him with ideas
"Fluctuation of inspiration is like a psychodrama. Sometimes too hard, so you came freeze and immobile in an intermediate between do or not doing, searching the moment, frustrate for deception about the capability to continue creating, at marge of results, sometimes something thirsty too."

All you have to do is call out, and support is on the way. This artist, into drawing comics, didn't hesitate a moment after being mentioned.
"I feel that same connection; comic creators really understand the grind and the magic of building a story visually.
No rush on the challenge. Going to the art shop for materials is already part of the creative journey! Sometimes just gathering what you need helps spark the urge to draw."

Nomination 3

A young Steemian has become a crochet enthusiast, and she shares step-by-step how she made a beautiful crocheted top in her free time.
"Some time ago, I shared my first crocheted top in an update, which excited me a lot and made me interested in crocheting more garments. I've wanted to make another one for a while now, so taking advantage of my free time after finishing all my activities for the evaluation week, I decided to get to work on this project."

Nomination 4

This DIYER has a workshop where he creates and repairs objects. He kindly explains in as much detail as possible how, using his ingenuity and a 3D printer, he fulfils a request,
"No, there isn't a ready-made printing template. That's precisely the problem, because you can't buy the part separately. I recreate it myself..."

- He is very critical when it comes to his art and is always willing to point out what went wrong and what took effort. In this comment, he unabashedly shows his only coloured work.*
"I don't often paint in colour; I've never worked with watercolours, but I did buy some acrylic paint to experiment with. I discovered that I'm not very good at painting in colour. I have trouble controlling colours. Moreover, because of my work, I rarely stay in one place for long. Transporting paint is rather cumbersome. However, I don't need much to make sketches: just pencils and a sketchbook."

Nomination 6

A video by this artist made a big impression on a user of the platform, who dedicated a post to it. He responded with a warm comment expressing the emotions it stirred in him.
"In my little world of paint and practice, not a day goes by without a fog of self-doubt descending...It’s been a tough week, and waking up to read your post met my need, literally ejected the dread I’ve been accustomed to this winter...The fog has lifted— even before coffee.
P.S. Simplicity rules!"

The way things happen... the Eurovision Songfestival. It's not about songs, Europe, the Eu, but...
"As I said, I watch some things just to be informed, even though I know the outcome is predetermined, as it was here too, in this case, but then I regret it because sometimes you feel dirty and disgusted when you watch some things happen. It's downright humiliating.
And it's boring. This is so boring".
