Sitting quietly,
doing nothing,
Spring comes,
and the grass grows by itself.
Zenrin Kushû

This is the Year of the Horse, which stands for freedom.
Spring has come to the northern hemisphere: the last snow is melting, the days are growing longer, and Lent is nearly over.
Now is the moment to bask in the warm sunlight, to make plans, and to strengthen bonds. We spend more time outdoors, where art can be created and enjoyed. Make the most of this; let your creativity speak, and leave AI aside.
There is no reason to follow in others’ footsteps or to be on this platform without enthusiasm.

"Catch the precious horse of your mind."

Nothing captures the essence of a day quite like photographs. It is the season of Lent, 46 days, which lasts until Easter.

"It's Lent, so we're making some Lenten food. These are manti with pumpkin. They're really delicious."

Does free art liberate? Do artists give their work away for other reasons, to make it accessible to everyone, and to make people realise that this is something they need in their lives to add colour to them, and to feel and experience something?

"Yes … every now and then I sell a small 8 x 10 oil painting for $1,000 …. Then I have to pay 50% income Tax. No thanks. So yes, it is better to give it away… earn a little crypto to help my kids... "

Gardening is a labour of skill, knowledge, and love that unfolds in the "rooftop sanctuary".

"I planted a solitary spider plant, watered it diligently, and whispered words of encouragement and hope to it each morning.
Weeks later, a basil sprout emerged from the soil, followed by a cascade of hanging pothos. That moment watching the basil unfold made me realise something: a garden isn't just a hobby; it's a living, vibrant testament to patience and care."

Opinions are divided on how to gain experience. Is it by painting more, drawing less, and observing better? How do we learn from our mistakes, or is it a matter of artistic freedom?

"I used to think that the more pieces I drew, the more I would improve. I believed that hard work always pays off.
But later on, I realised that it’s more important to observe and compare. And the interplay of light and shadow? How crucial that is. Only by understanding these principles can one improve one's skills quickly."

Questions for collectors and market analysts: Does the value of a coin have more to do with its age and the artistry of its creation, or with the price of the material it is made of?

"I do wonder to what extent people who are concerned about the tangibility of an asset like gold will be able to trust digital gold. But I suppose it's not all that different from the old silver certificates and gold-backed paper currency.

My own interest in gold and silver coinage has always been a large part historical and numismatic. I find that there is a certain "charm" to having actual antique gold Sovereigns and old European gold coins from 100 years ago."

The secret to the artist's success is it exactly what, or is it who?

"Many people asked him about the beautiful little girl in his painting... William always replied that she was his great artistic secret....
There she was, the girl who had once been a shy and innocent little girl, stripped of her clothes and her dignity, posing in terror and shame before a cruel, exploitative and ruthless father who cared more about his fortune and his own ego."

Anyone who rejects the current state of affairs worldwide undoubtedly aspires to genuine change that will bring us harmony and the longed-for peace. Is abandoning the current model the way forward? It's a message, if you will, that is subversive and desperate for peace.

"Pause in the here and now...
The rain is pouring down, and the clouds are hanging low. The day is grey, cold and inhospitable. Not the kind of weather for bees to fly, nor for the sky to hum.
A grey day, a day of war somewhere on a pale blue dot in the infinite expanse of the universe."
