The Diary Game: Rushing Through Monday(4/5/2026)
Happy new week, amazing Steemians! 🌟
A fresh week is here again, bringing with it new opportunities, new challenges, and hopefully, countless blessings for each and every one of us. I pray this week unfolds beautifully for you, filling your days with joy, productivity, and little wins worth celebrating.
Now, back to the story of my Monday… honestly, it started on a very dramatic note 😅. You know those mornings when your alarm betrays you or maybe you betray your alarm? That was me. I had planned to wake up by 5:30 a.m. to get a head start on the day, especially to prepare my son for school without rushing. But somehow, sleep held me hostage, and before I knew it, I jolted awake by 6:30 a.m.!
At that moment, panic mode activated immediately. I quickly called out to my mum, and we both sprang into action like a well-rehearsed emergency team. Thankfully, I had prepared tomato stew the night before (a lifesaver!), so all I needed to do was boil rice. Even with that small advantage, the rush made everything feel like a race against time.
In no time, we were juggling multiple tasks fixing his lunch, preparing breakfast, getting his food flask and water bottle ready. Just as we were wrapping things up, my little boy woke up. While his grandma handled bathing him, I hurried into the kitchen to clean up the mess we had created in our morning rush. It’s funny how quickly a kitchen can turn upside down in just a few minutes of hurried cooking!
Soon, everything was ready. I packed his lunch neatly while he sat down to eat his breakfast. Watching him eat calmly after all that chaos gave me a moment to breathe. Afterward, we got dressed and headed out to school. Despite the rough start, we still managed to stay on track and honestly, that felt like a small victory for the day.

When I got back home, I didn’t even have much time to relax because my exams are ongoing. I picked up my books and tried to focus on reading, even though my body was already feeling the stress from the morning rush. After studying for a while, I took a short break to prepare something to eat because, of course, energy is needed to keep going!

By 2 p.m., it was time to leave for my exam. Getting to school, I was surprised by the large number of students present. For a moment, I thought it might take longer than expected. But to my surprise, everything was very organized and moved quickly. Since it was a CBT exam, the process was smooth and efficient. In less than 30 minutes, I was done and out of the exam hall. Honestly, I didn’t expect it to be that fast!
On my way back home, I stopped by the market to get a few household items because the work of a mother never ends.

After that, I finally made it home, had my lunch, and took a much-needed nap. That nap felt like heaven after such a long and eventful day.
Later in the evening, I stepped out again to refill my gas cylinder, making sure everything was set for the next day. As tiring as the day was, it also felt productive. From managing the morning rush, handling my son’s school routine, writing my exams, and still taking care of the home it was truly a full day.
Looking back, Mondays like this remind me that even when things don’t go as planned, we can still make the best out of them. It may start with chaos, but with determination and a little help, everything falls into place.
How did your Monday go? Was it smooth or a bit of a rollercoaster like mine? 😊
