I smile like daylight painted on my face, yet storms reside within a hidden place. My laughter dances, light and in its motion, but truth lies deeper, behind emotion.

I speak in a calm, measured, careful tone,
While fear writes letters no one’s ever known.
My eyes stay dry, devoted to devotion,
Though tears stand waiting, behind emotion.

I wear my strength like armour finely sewn,
A practised art the world has always shown.
At night, it cracks, undone by the silent ocean,
Revealing fractures behind emotion.

If hearts could read what masks are meant to hide,
They’d hear the ache that words deny inside.
For love begins with honest self-devotion,
And healing starts behind emotion.
