It hides in honest words and open eyes,
In small beginnings, not the grandest skies.
It walks beside my fears and persists,
I know where happiness is; it can’t be missed.
It grows when I forgive and let hearts heal,
When what I hope for dares to turn out real.
It stays when fleeting joy no longer is,
I know where happiness is; it stays with this.
It rests in who I am, not what I chase,
In self-made peace and giving myself grace.
No distant dream or borrowed bliss,
I know where happiness is; it lives like this.
