Land Fire Breaks Out in Blang Cut Village, Bireuen, Four Fire Trucks Deployed to the Scene.
A land fire occurred in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province. Approximately 1 hectare of land covered in sago palms caught fire in Blang Cut Village, South Peusangan District, on Monday, September 1, 2025.
The incident, which occurred just before sunset, caused panic among local residents. They saw the fire suddenly grow large and spread, engulfing the land.
Residents quickly contacted the Bireuen Regency Fire Department, and one fire truck from the Kuta Blang Bireuen Post and three fire trucks from the Bireuen Main Post were deployed to the scene.
The Village Head (Keuchik) of Blang Cut, Ikhsan, stated that the fire broke out suddenly and the exact cause is still unknown.
"Residents saw large flames burning in the sago palm area," said Keuchik Blang Cut.
"Because the fire was quite extensive and close to residential areas in the south, we immediately requested assistance from the fire department to prevent the fire from spreading," he said.
In response to the report, a fire truck from the Kutablang Subdistrict Sub-district Post was immediately deployed to the location. Shortly after, three additional units from the Bireuen City Main Post followed to bolster extinguishing efforts.
Dozens of Bireuen firefighters, along with local residents and members of the Peusangan Selatan Military Post, worked together to extinguish the fire, which continued to spread among the flammable bushes and clumps of sago palm.
The extinguishing process was quite dramatic, given the difficult terrain and the winds that occasionally fanned the flames. Fortunately, thanks to the quick coordination and cooperation of all parties, the fire was brought under control before it reached residential areas.
"Thank God, thanks to the assistance of firefighters and the participation of the community and authorities, the fire was successfully extinguished. No homes were affected," said Keuchik Ikhsan.
This incident serves as an important reminder of the potential dangers of land fires, especially during the dry season. The village government urged residents to be more vigilant and immediately report any signs of fire in their neighborhood.
