Students from the Community Empowerment Learning Community Service Program (KKN PPM) Class XXXVIII, Academic Year 2025/2026, Group 34 of Malikussaleh University (Unimal) conducted an early savings education activity for elementary school children.

The educational activity for young children was carried out by KKN Group 34 students in Keude Blang Hamlet, Dewantara District, North Aceh, Indonesia. Through this activity, the students hope to foster a culture of saving among the children.

"We are educating children about the importance of saving from an early age as part of developing a disciplined character and frugal lifestyle habits," said Andry Siska Yanti from Group 24 on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The students explained in simple terms the meaning of saving, its benefits, and examples of its application in everyday life.

The education was delivered using interactive methods that were easy for children to understand, such as storytelling, Q&A sessions, and examples of how to use piggy banks made from recycled materials. The children were also encouraged to discuss the purpose of saving, such as for purchasing school supplies, books, and other useful necessities.

Through this activity, KKN PPM Group 34 students hope that children in Keude Blang Hamlet, Dewantara District, will develop the habit of setting aside a portion of their pocket money for regular savings, even if only in small amounts.

"This habit is expected to foster a responsible attitude in managing finances from an early age," added Andry Siska Yanti.

In addition to fostering a habit of saving from an early age, the activity also aims to utilize used bottles to create piggy banks.

This savings education activity is one of the contributions of KKN PPM Group 34 students from Malikussaleh University to supporting children's character education and raising awareness of the importance of financial management from elementary school.[]
