Bireuen Regent Distributes Compensation to 45 Heirs of Flood Victims from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.
Bireuen Regent, Ir. H. Mukhlis, ST, distributed death benefits from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) to the heirs of 45 victims who died as a result of the floods and landslides, or hydrometeorological disasters, that occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday (November 25-26, 2025).
The distribution of compensation totaled Rp 675 million, with each heir receiving Rp 15 million. The event was attended by Acting Regional Secretary Hanafiah SP CGCAE FRMP, Head of the Bireuen Social Service, Ismunandar ST MT, sub-district heads, and officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. The event took place at the Pendopo on Saturday morning (March 14, 2026).
In his remarks, Bireuen Regent, Ir. H. Mukhlis, ST, expressed his deepest condolences to all the victims' families. He hoped that the assistance provided would ease the economic burden on the bereaved families.
"This disaster is a test from Allah SWT. We hope that the heirs will make the best use of this assistance, especially to meet their families' basic needs, especially now that we are approaching Eid al-Fitr," said the Regent.
The Bireuen Regency Government remains committed to coordinating with the central government to ensure that every resident affected by the disaster receives the attention and assistance they deserve, he concluded.
