The Regent of Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, H. Mukhlis ST, inaugurated the new Library and Archives Office building on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The event took place in Meunasah Capa Village, Kota Juang District.

The Bireuen Regency Library and Archives Office (Dispusip) has officially moved into its new, more magnificent, three-story building. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by members of the Bireuen Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), heads of departments, agencies, and offices, as well as representatives from the Aceh Library and Archives Office (Dispusip), and various other relevant stakeholders.

The Acting Head of Bireuen Dispusip, Dailami, SHut, MLing, explained that the new building was constructed with a budget of IDR 9.9 billion in the previous fiscal year. The building has three floors with different functions.

The first floor houses administrative services. The second floor houses library services and a reading room. The third floor: a hall that can be used for various community activities.

Although the building has been officially opened, according to Dailami, several facilities still need to be completed, such as fencing, gardens, and supporting furniture.

"This inauguration marks a historic milestone because it coincides with the 26th anniversary of Bireuen Regency.

We hope that all universities, literacy activists, schools, and the general public can make maximum use of this library building," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Automation Services and Cooperation at the Aceh Library and Archives Office (Dispusip), Ir. Diaz Furqan, assessed that the presence of this new building is an urgent need for the Bireuen community.

According to him, the library is not only a learning facility, but also a platform for increasing reading interest, creativity, and digital literacy in the community.

"With this representative library building, it is hoped that it will encourage improvements in the quality of human resources while supporting the digital transformation of public services in Bireuen Regency," said Diaz Furqan.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis ST, encouraged all levels of society to make the library a shared space that unites people of all ages, backgrounds, or professions.

"The library should be a place where everyone can learn, discuss, and share knowledge.

I invite all heads of government agencies (SKPK), especially the Education and Culture Office, sub-district heads, and Bireuen residents to make the most of this facility," said the Regent.

He emphasized that the new building is expected to become a center for literacy and knowledge activities that contribute to the progress of the region and the nation.
