The Diary Game - Monday, January 2, 2026: Starting the School Day with a Flag Ceremony
Good morning and happy greetings to all Steemians. How are you today? I hope everyone is in good health and always under the protection of Allah SWT, allowing them to carry out all their activities well. Alhamdulillah, I'm back to share my daily activities on this happy day.
Time flies so fast, and now it's time to welcome another Monday at the start of the week. After a pleasant weekend for everyone, Monday brings me back to my activities from the crack of dawn. Congregational morning prayer is my main activity at the start of this bright week. Looking at the clock, it was almost 7 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, amidst very pleasant weather, I left the yard of my beloved house in the Panggoi Asri complex and headed to my duty station, which is not too far away. A duty station I've served for almost twenty years. Monday at the start of the week is a very special day for Muslims everywhere.
Alhamdulillah, since morning the sun has been shining brightly. The bright morning light bolstered my enthusiasm for starting my daily activities. I set off eagerly for my teaching position at a high school in the Muara Dua Cunda area of Lhokseumawe City. Although it was still quite early, the streets were already bustling with traffic. Understandably, Mondays are typical for workers, students, and even university students, leaving earlier than usual. Many people were also seen heading to their respective workplaces this morning. Despite the crowds, it didn't take me long to arrive at school.
Before arriving at school, as usual, I stopped briefly at the Lom Kupi cafe to enjoy a cup of black coffee. Not long after paying the bill, which was only IDR 5,000, I left my regular coffee shop and headed straight to school. It only took a few minutes to arrive at the yard and saw that the entrance gate was already starting to get busy with students arriving. After parking my vehicle, I filled out my fingerprint attendance form and then headed to the field to direct the newly arrived students to quicken their pace because the bell had just rung. Early in February, Monday morning before the teaching and learning process in class, as usual, began with the routine flag ceremony.
There are many lessons to be learned from the flag ceremony, including fostering discipline in students, which has begun to erode over time. After the ceremony, students are given a moment to rest and have breakfast. Many of these future leaders of the nation's ideals haven't had time to eat breakfast at home. Most skip breakfast because their homes are quite far from school, or they intentionally skip breakfast. Some students, even those whose parents' economic circumstances are worrying, are forced to skip breakfast at home. When the bell rang for the change of classes, students and teachers entered their respective classrooms to begin the learning process.
While waiting for my scheduled teaching time, I performed the sunnah dhuha prayer as an additional act of charity on this blessed Monday. Then I completed various assignments, including personal ones. Shortly before 9:00 a.m., shortly after the bell rang for the change of classes, I headed to class XII-3 to begin teaching. For the final year students, I simply gave them questions and explanations. Eighty minutes later, the bell rang for recess, and I left the final year classroom. After recess and the bell for the change of classes, I headed to class XI-4 to resume teaching. After teaching, when the call to prayer sounded, I left the schoolyard for the Al Mabrur Mosque. Then, I returned home for a nap until I woke up just before Asr prayer.
That concludes my activities at the start of this week, and thank you for the continued support of all my Steemit friends everywhere.
Regards,
@fadlymatch
