A permanent house belonging to Hanafiah (56) in Rheum Baroh Village, Simpang Mamplam District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, caught fire on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at around 2:20 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

Thanks to the swift assistance of the Fire Department (Damkar) at the Simpang Mamplam Post in Bireuen and other agencies, the fire was extinguished, with only the ceiling and part of the roof burned.

There were no fatalities in the incident, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.

According to information received, the homeowner was initially awakened by the sound of smoke and steam, who saw that the fire had spread to the ceiling and roof. The homeowner immediately went outside, sought help from residents, and contacted the fire department.

The fire department at the Simpang Mamplam Post, upon receiving the report, immediately carried out its duties to extinguish and cool the fire, ensure the fire was completely extinguished, and conduct a data collection.

Following the disaster, the Bireuen Regency government, through the Social Services Agency and the Regional Disaster Management Agency, immediately distributed emergency aid to the victims.
