Four Imum Mukim in Makmur District Inaugurated by Regent.

The Regent of Bireuen Regency, H. Mukhlis, ST, took the oath of office and inaugurated four Imum Mukim in Makmur District on Friday morning (October 3, 2025) in the Sub-district Office Hall.

The four Imum Mukim are Sabri Thaib (Mukim Suka Makmur), Samir Basyah (Mukim Suka Maju), T. Amirjana (Mukim Suka Damai), and Muhammad (Mukim Suka Jaya).

In his remarks, Makmur Sub-district Head Mukhsin expressed his gratitude to the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, Acting Regional Secretary Hanafiah, Acting Head of the DPMGPKB, Irmawati, SP MLing, and staff for attending the event.

Since becoming the new Head of Makmur Sub-district today, the inauguration of the Imum Mukim was directly inaugurated by the Regent of Bireuen. This honor is for the Imum Mukim and the Makmur community in general, the Sub-district Head stated.

The Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, stated in his remarks that today's inauguration is not merely a formality. It is the beginning of a significant mandate. It encompasses not only customs and religion, but also the social life of the community.

The Imum Mukim plays a central role in the community, serving not only as a traditional leader but also as a custodian of customary law and customary disputes. According to Aceh Government Law Number 11 of 2006, the role of the mukim in the government hierarchy is below the sub-district head and above the village head.

In Acehnese customs and governance, the Imum Mukim plays a crucial role. An Imum Mukim is the liaison between the village and the sub-district.

An Imum Mukim is also the guardian of customary values and sharia law, a religious leader at the mukim level, a mediator in social and customary conflicts, and a community advocate on social, religious, and educational issues.

This is no easy task. Therefore, an Imum Mukim is required to be wise in making decisions, fair in considering issues, and sincere in serving the community.

"I hope that the Sub-district Head, Village Head, Village Head, Village Head, Village Head, and the entire community of Kemukiman Makmur will support every step taken by the Imum Mukim to play a maximum role as a unifying force and traditional leader in community development," he said.
