The Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, accompanied by the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), and other relevant officials.

Inspecting the construction of the Baeley Bridge connecting the approach to the Teupin Mane steel truss bridge in Juli District, which was cut off by flash floods, to open road access to Bener Meriah Regency and Takengon, Saturday morning (12/13/2025).

During the visit, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs also visited the residents of Bale Panah Village, Juli District, who were displaced at kilometer 8.5 of the Bireuen-Takengon road. The one-way journey to the Teupin Mane steel truss bridge has been successfully connected to the Baeley Bridge.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, stated that during his visit, he visited several locations, including inspecting the completed Baeley Bridge, which provides road access to the Teupin Mane steel truss bridge.

"This bridge is crucial for connecting Bireuen with Bener Meriah and Takengon. It's so important that President Prabowo Subianto personally inspected it, and I'm here today to follow up on that," he explained.

"I've received reports that the Baeley Bridge has been connected to the steel truss bridge and will be used by the public. I've also instructed the soldiers to ensure this bridge is completely safe for the public to use," he said.

Although there is a difference in width between the Baeley Bridge and the Teupin Mane steel truss bridge at the site, the most important thing is that the broken bridge can be reconnected. The problem will then be properly managed to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.

The Coordinating Minister also invited the Bireuen Regent and the community to work together to address the issues arising from the flood disaster. "This issue is not just a local problem for the people of Bireuen, Bener Meriah, and Takengon Regencies, but also a national issue," he stressed.

He further stated that with the reopening of road access from the Teupin Mane Bridge, damage to other roads and bridges along the Bireuen-Takengon highway can also be addressed.

Therefore, the existence of the Teupin Mane Bridge is crucial. Without road access from this bridge, equipment and materials cannot be brought in to repair the damage.

"That's the strategic importance of the Teupin Mane Bridge," he said, adding that he hoped for "constant efforts" and that "we will continue to work together with the local government and relevant stakeholders to resolve this issue," the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs emphasized.

During his visit to the Teupin Mane steel-frame bridge, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs also handed over Rp 50 million in cash assistance to help build the Baitul Huda Mosque in Juli District, near the site. He also provided Rp 2 million in aid to several Takengon residents seeking to cross the river to their hometowns.

As is known, the Baeley Bridge construction connects the approach to the Teupin Mane steel-frame bridge on the Bireuen-Takengon road, which was cut off by flooding on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, due to heavy rain.

It is being handled by the Aceh National Road Development Agency (BPJN), the National Road Development Work Unit (Satker), and the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) 3.6 of Aceh Province, as well as the Indonesian Army from the 16th Indrapuri Military Command Unit, Aceh Besar Regency.
