Flies - Photography

I went to my farm to observe my maize and soya beans farm. I recently sprayed herbicides on it and I noticed there were still some grasses which the herbicides didn't kill.

While I was in the middle of the farm, I noticed a group of house flies perching on the maize leaves. I was wondering what could have brought there to gather like that.
