Writing || Tips to increase children's enthusiasm for learning
Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of this beloved community. May we always be under His protection!
Learning certainly requires enthusiasm, and this enthusiasm for learning must be constantly increased. Enthusiasm is needed to combat laziness, especially in learning. Enthusiasm also awakens the desire to develop and meet the demands of the times. Therefore, fostering enthusiasm for learning in children is essential and must be nurtured from an early age.
Enthusiasm for learning is a strong drive or motivation, enthusiasm, and determination within a person to actively seek knowledge, develop abilities, and achieve educational goals without coercion. Enthusiasm also includes perseverance to continuously strive to overcome obstacles, curiosity, and positive study habits.
Enhancing children's enthusiasm for learning can be done in several ways, including:
1. Creating a Conducive Learning Space
Education providers must of course prepare a study area that is calm, neat, bright, and free of distractions or noise that disturbs children's focus.
2. Get to Know Children's Learning Styles
In this case, every educator must of course recognize the learning style of each child, whether the child is visual (seeing), auditory (hearing), or kinesthetic (moving/practicing) so that the learning method is appropriate and achieved.
3. Use Multiple Approaches
Every educator must be clever at turning lesson material into fun games or quizzes so that children are more interested. Of course, it doesn't deviate from the curriculum and material presented.
4. Give Appreciation and Motivation
Every child needs appreciation and motivation. Therefore, give them sincere praise, a hug, or a small gift for their efforts, no matter how small the children's efforts.
5. Create a Flexible Routine
Involve children in creating their study schedule so they feel in control and responsible for every activity they do in class and outside of class.
6. Learn While Being Active
Encourage children to study outdoors or use surrounding objects as learning resources, rather than just being confined to the classroom.
7. Support and Avoid Comparison
Avoid scolding or comparing children with others, as this can lower their self-confidence. Provide more support to children who need guidance.
8. Be a Good Role Model
Show your own enthusiasm as educators in learning new things, because children tend to imitate and copy everything their teachers do.
Increasing children's enthusiasm for learning isn't just done at school, but also wherever they are, such as in the family and community, where this enthusiasm is provided by parents and other members of the community.
Friends, that concludes my presentation for today. I welcome your suggestions and comments. Please forgive me for any errors in this post. Wassalam.
