The burden of lies

A boy used to rest under a mango tree on his way to school every day. One day, he thought, for fun, he shouted, “Tiger! Tiger! Help!” The villagers came running, but no tiger was seen. He then started laughing. After a few days, a tiger did indeed appear. He shouted then, but this time no one came. Finally, an old man rescued him and said, “A liar is never trustworthy, even if he tells the truth.”

Lesson: Lying destroys trust, and in real danger, no one comes to help.
