Steem Heights Log — Unlocking the Glacier Plate
Steem Heights Log — Unlocking the Glacier Plate
Today's challenge in Steem Heights started off surprisingly well.
After a few days of climbing, I felt more comfortable with the timing and decided to push for a higher position on the leaderboard.
My first run of the day was solid.
First Run
- Total Altitude: 92m
- Combos: 13
- Bonus: +26m
A 13-combo streak is nothing to complain about, and the bonus altitude helped me reach a respectable score.
At that point, I thought there was a good chance I could improve even further.
That's when I decided it was finally time to spend the energy I had been saving.
After completing daily challenges and collecting rewards over multiple days, I had accumulated enough energy to purchase one of the most useful items in the game.
GLACIER PLATE
Frozen tiles that dampen movement speed.
Cost: 150 Energy
The main benefit of Glacier Plate is the reduced movement speed.
In Steem Heights, the higher you climb, the more difficult it becomes to place blocks accurately. A slower movement speed can make a huge difference when the platforms start shrinking and the pressure begins to build.
With my new skin equipped, I jumped straight back into the game.
I was expecting a new personal best.
Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned.
Even though the Glacier Plate definitely helped with control and timing, my later runs weren't as successful as my first attempt.
Sometimes that's just how Steem Heights works.
You can have the perfect setup, the perfect skin, and still lose a run because of one small mistake.
Despite several attempts, I couldn't beat my best score of the day.
Still, it wasn't a wasted effort.
The new skin felt great to use, and I'm sure it will help me climb even higher in future runs.
Current Leaderboard
1st — @thhridoy
- 130m
2nd — @rabiafaisal
- 128m
3rd — @theexplorerguy
- 125m
These are all familiar names that I see near the top of the leaderboard quite often.
As for me?
I'm currently sitting in 6th place with 93m.
Not exactly where I want to be, but the season is far from over.
Now that I finally have the Glacier Plate, I feel like I have a much better chance of challenging the top players.
Tomorrow I'll need a little more focus, a few more combos, and maybe a bit of luck.
With the leaderboard this close, a single great run could change everything.
