Potato Magic Challenge : Potato Snack / Potato chop
Assalam O Alaikum
Today I am very happy to participate in the Potato Magic Challenge. I love cooking and today I am sharing a very delicious homemade recipe with all of you. I made these very tasty Potato Chops without any coating especially for my very special person. If you also want to make something tasty for your loved ones then you should definitely try this recipe.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Boiled Potatoes | Half kg |
| Corn Flour | 2 to 3 tbsp |
| Salt | 1 tsp |
| Crushed Red Chili | 1 tsp |
| Fresh Green Coriander | As per taste |
| Garam Masala | A little |
| Bread Slices | 3 Pieces |
| Oil or Ghee | For shallow frying |
Preparation Method
Step 1 Mashing the Potatoes
First I boiled half kg potatoes until they became soft. Then I peeled them and mashed them very well in a bowl so there are no lumps.
Step 2 Softening the Bread
Now I took 3 bread slices and dipped them lightly in water so they became soft. Then I held them in my hand and squeezed out all the extra water carefully.
Step 3 Making the Dough
I added the soft bread into the mashed potatoes and then added corn flour salt crushed red chili green coriander and a little garam masala. I mixed everything very well until it became a smooth dough like mixture.
Step 4 Resting and Shaping
I placed this mixture in the freezer for about 30 minutes so it could become slightly firm. After 30 minutes I took it out and spread the mixture on a greased flat plate like a flat layer. Then I cut it with a knife to give beautiful Triangle shapes for my Potato Chops.
Step 5 Frying to Perfection
I heated a little oil on a tawa and shallow fried the Potato Chops on medium to low flame. I fried them slowly until they became golden and crispy from both sides.
My Personal Experience
I have made many potato snacks before but making these Potato Chops today was a truly unique and satisfying experience for me. Usually I worry about snacks breaking during frying but using bread and corn flour as a binder made the whole process so much easier and stress free. It was a very happy moment for me to see the snacks turning out so perfectly crispy and professional looking without any messy egg coating. I really enjoyed every step from mashing the potatoes to cutting them into beautiful triangle shapes.
Family Feedback
I served these Potato Chops to my family and they really loved them. Everyone was impressed by the crunchiness and the unique triangle shape. My mother especially liked that they were not greasy at all and had a perfect golden color. Seeing their happy faces always motivates me to cook with even more love. My special person also enjoyed them a lot which made my effort completely worth it.

This is a good potato snack recipe. Using bread slices and corn flour as a binder is a smart technique to keep the chops from breaking while frying.
The triangle shapes look very neat, and it’s good that they turned out crispy even without an egg coating. Shallow frying them also makes it a lighter and better snack option. Good effort on this challenge.
Thanks for inviting.
I am really glad you liked the recipe. Using bread and corn flour as a binder is a simple trick that works every time to keep the shapes perfect. It makes the cooking process much easier for everyone.
