How would you describe the general traffic flow in your region during peak hours? Are there significant differences in traffic between weekdays and weekends?

The traffic pressure at shapla chattor intersection in Rangpur usually increases during busy times. During the morning and afternoon peak hours, as people travel to offices, schools, colleges and business activities, the number of rickshaws, auto rickshaws, motorcycles, private cars and buses increases at the intersection. As a result, traffic jams sometimes occur and the speed of vehicles slows down. The traffic pressure is usually higher on weekdays or weekdays, especially in the morning and afternoon.

On the other hand, the traffic pressure is relatively lower during peak hours as offices and educational institutions are closed on weekends including Fridays. However, if there is a lot of shopping and movement of people in markets or important areas, traffic jams may occur temporarily even on holidays.

What are the conditions of the main roads in terms of maintenance and signage?

The main roads in the Shapla Chattor intersection area of Rangpur are in fairly good condition and are suitable for regular vehicle movement. However, due to the pressure of additional vehicles, problems of road pitch erosion, small potholes and dust can be seen in some parts of the road. During the rainy season, water accumulates in some places, which makes movement somewhat difficult. There are directional, warning and traffic-related signboards at various important places on the road, which help drivers and pedestrians to move.

However, the visibility, maintenance and clarity of signboards need to be improved in some places. Even though there are traffic lights, their effectiveness or adequate coordination cannot always be ensured.

Various types of vehicles ply regularly on the main roads of Shapla Chattor intersection in Rangpur. Among them, auto-rickshaws, rickshaws, motorcycles, CNG, private cars, microbuses and buses are the most common. Rickshaws and auto-rickshaws are used more for daily travel by local people, while buses and other public transport play an important role for long-distance travel and travel to different areas of the city.

How would you describe the driving culture in your region? Are drivers responsible behind the wheel?

Although the driving culture in the Lalbagh intersection area of Rangpur is fairly normal, many drivers try to drive fast during busy times. While most drivers try to follow traffic rules, in some cases, excessive speeding, sudden lane changes, overtaking, and unnecessary use of horns are seen. Especially among rickshaw, auto-rickshaw, and motorcycle drivers, the tendency to drive fast using empty spaces on the road sometimes creates chaos in traffic.

The excessive movement of vehicles on the busy roads of Shapla Chattor intersection and surrounding areas in Rangpur has some negative impact on the environment. During peak hours, the vehicles' engines run for long periods of time, which increases smoke and carbon emissions, which can lead to a slight deterioration in local air quality. At the same time, noise pollution is also caused by excessive honking and vehicle noise.
