I've never used magic masala. What are the main spices it contains? I'd like to try recreating the same flavor.

“Magic Masala” isn’t a single spice—it’s a blended seasoning mix designed to taste savory, slightly spicy, tangy, and a bit sweet. The exact recipe is secret, but you can get very close at home.

You can try this at home:

1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp red chili powder
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garam masala
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp amchur powder
½ tsp sugar
Salt to taste

Mix everything well and store in an airtight container.
