Hello friends, how are you? I hope you are well. By the grace of God, I am well. Assalamu Alaikum. Today I want to talk about a park in Sylhet division, its name is Hi-Tech Park. It is not possible to say what Hi-Tech Park is. In short, it can be said that a park that is built to carry out all kinds of work related to information technology, IT, establishing IT as a business, creating all facilities in the IT sector, and providing all import and export facilities related to information technology is called Hi-Tech Park.

Functions of Hi-Tech Park

Since Hi-Tech Park is basically a special place based on information technology, big information technology-based business organizations and software companies from home and abroad will be able to open their companies in this park and do their work. These technology-based Hi-Tech Parks will create opportunities for technology-based industrialization, employment for the youth, and the transition and development of the hardware and software industries.

Establishing IT industries in our country will increase the employment of the country. On the other hand, high-tech parks will train the youth of the country and make them suitable for working in world-class companies. In such a situation, new initiatives will also be created in the country. By building state-of-the-art infrastructure, it will attract investors in information technology, information technology services and high-tech manufacturing, as well as create skilled manpower. By getting the opportunity to work with these companies, the youth of this country will quickly become familiar with modern technologies, will be able to learn new things by participating in various activities, will be able to do research. Some will also get the opportunity to open their own companies.

Just as foreign companies open companies and conduct production activities in the EPZs spread across the country, as a result of which our local unemployed workers are able to work and unemployment is being eliminated. Similarly, high-tech parks will basically be transformed into an information technology-based industrial area like EPZs.

World-class products will be manufactured here. Employment will be created. Foreign currency reserves will increase. Talent trafficking will decrease. This dream gave rise to the idea of ​​the Hi-Tech Park. It is an initiative to establish Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-Tech Park covering an area of ​​about 163 acres in the Burni area of ​​​​Companiganj upazila of Sylhet. The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (Bahatepak) is implementing it. Already, several structures, including soil filling, have been completed in the project.

But although the construction work of the Hi-Tech Park is scheduled to be completed until June 2023, very few of the project works have been completed within the stipulated period. Due to the slow progress of the work, this project is going to be dropped. The park has administrative buildings, Bangabandhu Memorial Hall, boundary wall, main gate, sewage treatment plant, RCC bridge, gas lines and internal roads. In addition, there are deep tube wells, water supply and water pumps, power buildings, substations and electric lines. There is a 10 MVA power substation, Ansar barracks and barbed wire fence.

We have had a lot of experience by going here. What we saw when we went here is that Bangladesh has improved a lot. You can see a lot of things here. If you want to come here, you have to come about 17 kilometers from Sylhet division. Then you can see Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park.
