Hello Everyone I Am @alihassan4 From #Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Everyone is hoping that I will participate in Steemit Learning today. Season 32 - The content of the contest selection is about the Local market video vlogging that I want to review.

Which local market did you visit, and what makes it unique compared to other markets?

I visited the local market in Rangpur’s Shalbon Mistripara, and in this video, I will highlight what makes it famous compared to other markets. True to the word "Mistri" (artisan/craftsman) in its name, this area and its surrounding pockets have historically been renowned for the craftsmanship of fine furniture and intricate woodwork. It may not have massive wholesale markets like the major central ones, but at the local market near Mistripara More, one can find—every morning and evening—fresh vegetables, fish, and daily essentials brought in from the surrounding villages and riverine tracts.

What products or local specialties did you find most interesting, and why?

At the small-to-medium-sized market held every morning and afternoon at Mistripara Mor, one can find fresh agricultural produce sourced from the nearby Teesta or Ghaghot river basins and local wetlands. A notable contrast is that large markets—such as Rangpur City Market—often feature produce that has been stored in cold storage or is otherwise not entirely fresh. In contrast, the local vendors at Mistripara Mor bring vegetables harvested straight from the fields and small, native fish caught fresh from the river. Finding this fresh and authentic village amastik right here in the city is truly wonderful.

People came to the market to shop

How did the market reflect the lifestyle, culture, and daily activities of the local people?

Mistripara More and its surrounding area represent more than just a shopping destination; they serve as a wonderful reflection of the local lifestyle and the authentic rural-town culture of North Bengal. A look at the market reveals that the vast majority of the people here belong to the middle or lower-middle class, leading remarkably simple lives. Most of the vendors come from nearby villages or the local area; they are typically seen wearing a lungi paired with a simple fatua or a shawl.

The market was a bit empty this morning

Did you capture any unexpected or memorable moments during your video vlog? Describe what happened and how it made your vlog more engaging.

While filming, I watched a shopkeeper—who had been chatting away—suddenly set aside the chisel he was holding and retrieve an old dotara (a traditional string instrument) from a dusty corner of the shop. Although I had the camera running, the moment wasn't captured perfectly on film. Without any musical accompaniment, he began to sing an authentic Bhawaiya song—a folk genre rooted in the soil of Rangpur. Set against the backdrop of his humble shop, the tremor in the elderly man's voice and the emotive, soulful melody of the Bhawaiya song left me completely spellbound.
