Cricket in 2025 was a year filled with entertainment and memorable moments. Across formats and continents, we could see great contests, long-awaited victories, and moments that will stay with fans for a long time. There were ups and downs as usual, but overall, the sport continues to evolve beyond the borders. So, let's see what happened in the last year as a whole. I will mainly focus on the Men's Cricket. (not Associate nations, women's, or leagues)

  • So, overall, 2025 has been a busy year with so many bilatelaterals across all formats, and a few ICC main tournaments as well. In total, there have been
    41 Test matches, 114 ODI matches, and 538 T20Is.

Major International Tournaments

  • India lifted the ICC Champions Trophy, remaining unbeaten throughout the competition, defeating New Zealand in the final.

The ninth edition of the tournament was hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from 19 February to 9 March 2025. Parallel to that, I hosted a Fantasy Contest which became a major success.

  • One of the fascinating moments of 2025 was South Africa winning its maiden ICC tournament title, as they won the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. They defeated the mighty Australians in the finals, creating history. See the full details, here

The tournament was held from June 2023 to June 2025, with nine top teams playing 69 matches in 27 series.

  • India won the the Asia Cup in the T20 format, defeating Pakistan in a high thrilling tournament. I hosted another Fantasy Contest , for that as well.

  • Women’s cricket also became more and more popular, and memorable, as India won their first Women’s Cricket World Cup. They defeated in-form South Africa in the final. The tournament was held from 30 September to 2 November 2025, including 8 teams in India.
