Noah A Perfect Man (02/06/2026)
From the book of Genesis chapter six, we can deduce that Noah was a just man and could not pollute himself. The bible moved ahead to describe him as a perfect man Not only that he was a just man in his generation but he was also perfect. This is a state of life that can be attained by one who is bent on making spiritual progress. The topic will be examined under the following areas:
(1). Perfection With Seven Meanings: God's intention for his own is to come to a state of life where we can have no condemnation before God and man. In God's dealing with his people, His desire is to take them to the mount of perfection. In the mount of perfection, there is fullness of everything in God. Noah walked in a polluted generation until he arrived to the level God ascribe perfection to him God's calling for his people is that they should be perfect as seen with Patriarch Abraham. This can be further understood as we looked into various meanings of perfection.
Perfection has other seven meanings as (a) holiness, this experience makes us to cure the sinful disorder, that we may be and act more like our heavenly father. (Hebrews 12:14: 1st Peter 1: 15-16), (b) Purity of heartMk 5:8, true religion lies in heart purity. If you are inwardly pure it means you are under the power of pure and undefiled religion. We must lift up to God not only clean hands but pure hearts (Psalm 24.4-5; 1st Timothy 1:5). The heart must be kept pure from unholy thoughts desires, fleshly lusts, worldly lusts etc. (c) Heart circumcision (Deuteronomy 30.6, Ezekiel 36:26), The filth of the flesh, foolishness of the heart must be put away by circumcision (Colossians 2. 11: Romans 2:29). Circumcision is the seal of the covenant. (d) Perfect love (1st Corinthians 13:1-8,13), love without stain or diversion.(e) Sanctification 1st Thessalonians 5.23. (f) Spotless Ephesians 5 26-27. (g) Blameless Col 1.21-22, Phil 2:14-15, living a faultless life. Noah attained a state of perfection, we have no excuse in our time.
(2) Perfection Under Severe Test: Not long after God credited perfection to Noah, he was directed to embark on a seemingly impossible project of building the ark. By this gesture, his faith, love, sincerity, patience, obedience were placed under trial but he passed the test. Other heroes have similar encounter. Abraham was tested with his son after he attained perfection ** Genesis 22-1-3** , Job in Job 1:1, 6-12, Paul in 2nd Corinthians 8: 5-6,11.23-27. Our perfection needs the test so as to maintain the soundness 1st Peter 1:6-7.
(3). Perfection Without Satisfaction: With all that were credited to Noah before the flood, he did not get satisfied on matters of fellowship. Immediately he was asked to come out of the ark, he set up an altar of the sweet smell which moved God to revoke an order He usually followed. We should not settle with any level of our spiritual state. Keep rising and be asking for more. Elisha asked for more from Elijah in 2nd Kings 2:1-15, the multitudes told Jesus to give them the bread ever more in John 6:32-34. Paul said he was pressing for the price of the high calling in Jesus Phillipians 3:7-14. We should seek more of his perfection till we get to the pearly gate
