The cult of the Steemians
I have noticed over my time here that (especially new users) call themselves Steemians. But why tho? You dont see Facebook users call themselves Facebookians or Facebookites, or Twitter users calling themselves Twitterians.
What makes Steem so much different that we need to differentiate ourselves? It all seems a bit culty to me.... I know that Steem is different from other social media platforms, but cant we just direct posts to our audience... some suggestions:
- Hey everyone
- Welcome to my post about...
Anything that doesnt start with that dreaded "hello Steemians!" - talk about not being unique...
I put this as a challenge to everyone here to stop using this awful term! It has gone abit far now and I hate to see what a huge group of Steemians might achieve together or what they might do for the cause.
The last thing we want is to be seen as Facebook and Twitters weird sibling... we might end up as another Myspace.
Interesting point and well taken, I do the Steemian thing, but it also annoys me.
Grinds my gears. I used to do it until i saw the light lol
It's not as bad as when people start their post saying hello to a particular community on Steemit. I'm like, hello I can see your post as well. If only a specific group of people is worthy of your greeting, shall I ignore your post and not bother upvoting?

I prefer steemizen, and i doubt many of us care about what others do, or do not do.
