Whales are likely just early adopters that paved the way to today #stopthehate

**Early Adoption** I know it times it might feel like you are the little kid in the picture and you can't touch the whale. But speaking from experience with Bitcoin, these are patient and smart people that were in the game long before most of us, and likely for the long haul. I started Bitcoin in 2011 and cashed in 200 BTC at a time for $1000 twice so my wife and I could go on a vacation (that would be $130,000 per 200 today). I didn't have the vision to see what it could become, but these people do. **Why do we like the Whales?** These people have likely paved the way for a lot of things you take for granted as just being there to click on. Steem is an evolving thing and it is where it is today because of the people that got involved early, don't lose sight of that. Just think, without them we might not even have the SteemIt site, nor would Steem be valued as high as it is today. This post was inspired by an excellent post by the-alien. I always here people say this or that platform is a scam. Many of these people are just sore they missed early investment. Early investors assume the most risk so it is fair that they have the most to gain from a successful launch. Is it unfair that Joe bought Microsoft stock in the 1980s but Bill didn't invest until 2005?

Agreed. I can laugh about it now that I missed the boat. Overall I cashed in just shy of one thousand BTC for maybe $18,000. The day it hit $1600 was rough, but I was still part of it. Hindsight can knock you down, but you have to get back up and keep going.

Whoa, I here ya drew. I am filled with seller regret on a daily basis.

Yes, exactly. All the people that are the whales on the list were here since at least June.

I started using steemit 2 weeks ago only and I'm already feeling like a whale giving out 1-2 cents per post. :3

I agree completely, the whales are the initial investors who saw value and a future in the platform.
