Day 1 & 2 of Daily Illustration Challenge
Hi guys it's been awhile.
I feel like getting back to drawing but with different art style from the previous one. This is called as illustration, I guess? Tell me if I am wrong, thank you. I chose this style because I really admire illustrations and cartoons since I was younger. I remember when I was in elementary, I like reading encyclopedias because the book contains illustrations of different plant species and more illustrations. About now, I have my favorite artists and the admiration still lingers when I see their works.
I challenged myself to fulfill a goal called "Daily Illustration" ~ a challenge that I made on my own. I want to make a collection of illustrations of aesthetic stuffs. I hope this goal may teach me how to use the other features of ibispaint for easier or more convenient use, and hoping that it will also push me to study different textures of brushes and even blending colors.
Since I haven't tried other brushes for my line art other than dip pen yet, I searched for better brushes with free qr code on tiktok and tiktok showed me the marker brush which I found more convenient for me to use.
As for this month, my theme for my collection is ~~ 'home decors'.
For my reference, I searched through Pinterest with the keyword ~bohemian home decoration~ and it showed a collage of cutout images with some ikea products, furnitures and indoor plants. On day one, I chose to draw ~~ Fiddle Leaf Fig plant.
On day 2 which is today, I drew ~~ a cabinet.
So I'm gonna walk you through my drawing process, let's go! ~~
Rough Sketch, Final sketch, Color Palette, Selection & Bucket Fill, Texture & Shadow
Day 1
Import Canvas. This is optional but I want this type of background for my illustration.

Draw your Rough Sketch. This is the phase when you allow your sketch to be messy while drawing lines and shapes until you get the form that you like.

My Color Palette. I saved it because I might use this later.

Base Color. This base color is essential for clipping when adding shadows and textures so that the colors won't overlap. This is also optional and the other choice is ~ magic wand/ selection, but this is my option as for now. I might try other ways later because I want to familiarize using ibispaint if I don't get lazy.
- Brush Reveal
Marker for line art ~ Watercolor for shadows and lighting ~ Texture for adding details.
Day 2 Illustration
The process here is the same with Day 1.
Thank you for reading guys, goodbyee and til next blog~~~~
