I don't really follow other coins, but the sense I get is roadmaps are never followed, and generally development is at a snail's pace. Well, I do follow Bitcoin and Ethereum development, it does seem absolutely standstill. I've been hearing about scalability improvements and PoS for BTC and ETH respectively for two years now.
