The Dolphin Challenge - can we reach 1500 by the end of the year ?
Dolphins are very important on Steem.
If you reach the 5,000 SP needed to become a Dolphin it is a sign of commitment to the platform. Dolphin status also gives you a worthwhile vote (currently $0.10) to help others in community.
So increasing the number of Dolphins is a strong sign of progress for the platform.
With Steemit's new #club5050 initiative rewarding those powering up, this seems like an ideal time to be growing Dolphins.
Dolphin Numbers
Back in 'Old Steem' before the split, there were around 2200 Dolphins (16 March 2020 - 2225 Dolphins).
Now there are 1223.
The number is growing...

I wonder if we can get to 1500 Dolphins by the end of the year?

@xpilar did launch a Dolphin Club a while back. I am not sure if this is still running...
I saw @virajherath became a Dolphin a few days ago with the help of #club5050...
Hopefully many more will keep powering up, and with assistance from #club5050, push through to become Dolphins.
We need many more Dolphins (and Orcas and Whales) to be out voting around the Steem Community to lessen the reliance on the @steemcurator accounts.

My vote is not great, but I hope to hit a $1 vote shortly.
I'm looking for people who have between 4000 and 5000 SP and are keen to push on to become Dolphins as soon as possible to help reach the 1500 Dolphin target.
They should be fully committed to #club5050 and ideally be willing to power up all rewards until they reach 5000 SP at least.

It's a good project... even in the "old days" we talked a lot about creating "a larger middle class" here.
Another thing that makes me happy about having a slightly larger upvote is being able to upvote worthy comments without using up all my voting power (I have about 8,250SP at the moment), which hopefully encourages more engagement.

The project is live, 1 has already become a dolphin. we are waiting for 2 new ones to become dolphins soon and then we will search again for new ones that will become dolphins

I want to be a dolphin too. I recently saw this event. I love being on this platform. I'm determined to make all of my earnings on steem power, and this is how I've been doing it for the last week. now i have 1580 steem power i hope i will be a dolphin by the end of the year

Hey pennsif, I just became aware of your project through @steemitblog. Just goes to prove again that it's worth following the blog. :-)
I am also not far away from #clubdolphin and would of course also be happy about support. I am of course also in the #club5050, even in the #club100 :-)

I don't get to post very often. It always takes me a little more time, which I usually don't have. (But the next one is in preparation :-)) However, reading and commenting on the posts of other users is just as fun for me... and is from my point of view even more important for the community.

A good project with a great goal, to strengthen votes to help steemian and community growth. 72.57% of the total SP for delegate to the community, participation for #club100 has been 2 weeks... wish me luck to become a Dolphin at the end of the year.. Cheers

Hope you can track down some 'near-Dolphins' to encourage them.
We rly do because a lot of the English speaking community died who had decent stakes so now it’s just down to a handful of five LG giving significant upvotes would be so great if there were actually lots more of us

This is a good idea, I'm also happy to move towards the mark of becoming a dolphin, it's a pity the power of the voice is still too small.
