How to Build an Online Community and Monetise IT!

in #steem5 years ago

When you start your own website and nobody comes, there is no community, there is nobody there. It's like a ghost Wuhan city now. You can scream to the whole universe if anybody wants to read your blog, but there would be no feedback.
When I started my Easy korean lessons online. I actually had a big community on vk and fb. And it was really fantastic, When fb and vk changed their policies. and my videos or posts started to get 50 % less of audience. Each time the visibility percentage was dropping dramatically. After using these common platforms I decided that I wouldn't build community there anymore. As they belong to those giant corporations and monetized by them not me.
Now let's talk about smart ways to build your community.
The main idea that you must have a control of that number of people.
1 . You must build your community on such platforms as Discord and Telegram. These platforms really help to build a healthy conversation with people who are interested in the same topic.

  1. If you own a website, then you must have an email list to pull somebody in and keep them coming to your website.
  2. Browser notifications. So yo can get even more attention. Whenever people will open their browser, your notifications will pop up. and it does send significant traffic.
  3. I feel that publishing videos on youtube or posts on instagram engaging people in live streams also increases your audience significantly and then hook them into your Discord or Telegram
5 time to go back to fb and vk groups, go to the popular groups in your niche and publish a post about your community or create a poll. Thousands of people will participate in your poll that will create a great content for your website or channel. Later you can publish this post and all the people who participated in your poll will go to check it.
