It depends on when in 2016. :) In July Steem briefly was worth $4/steem... but if you invested in the later quarter of 2016 you are 100% correct.
We never know where the "Next Big Thing" will come from - so my advice is invest what you believe in - only invest what you can afford to lose - and never second guess yourself after the fact (Win or Lose)!
