Please remember this article and the actions of the ones I mentioned in here when you read someone attacking the whales or feel the desire yourself to vent how unfair things are. Do not let the actions of a few tarnish your view of the whole. Most of the whales I came across are extremely committed to making this site and the steem blockchain successful.
I usually defend them. What people do not understand is that many of those whales really invested their money in Steemit because they are interested in the community to grow and to be able to earn more money. It is mainly whales that drive the market upwards. And if it falls, they are the biggest losers.
Without discriminating against anyone else, but it really bothers me when people want to establish systems of resditribution, or regulations in something as free as is the world of cryptocurrencies, and especially Steemit. I think that precisely to escape from those things is that we are in this world, no?
Absolutely. People want to attack many whales because "they were fortunate to be able to buy in at 6 cents".
Yeah after falling from $4, how many would have bought in. They were not fortunate, they took a risk in something they believed in.
Many whales have a lot of money riding....and by the way, putting money up for STEEM a year and a half ago, no matter what the price, was a riskier proposition.
"they were fortunate to be able to buy in at 6 cents" well that's what they do not understand, it's not about luck, it's about risks.
It is still early to buy, maybe they wait for it to go up more simply to complain, because it is what they want to do.
I wrote a post about that idea when STEEM was at 85 cents a few weeks ago stating that people who complain about the 6 cents will be complaining how lucky those of us were when STEEM was at 85 cents.
Of course, they werent buying at that price either.
