People Who Only Remember You When They Need Something

Have you ever had someone who can go weeks without checking on you, but the moment they need something, suddenly you're their “bro” again?

No “How are you doing?”
No “How have you been?”
Nothing.

Then one random day:

“Hey brooo! Long time! How are you? ❤️😂”

And immediately, you already know something is coming.

You start thinking, “Wait… why are you suddenly this friendly?”

Sometimes it isn't even about money. It could be someone asking for your help with an assignment, borrowing something, needing information, asking for a favor, or simply wanting you to solve a problem for them.

The funny thing is that after you help them, the conversation somehow disappears again.

Back to silence.

Until the next emergency.

I've noticed that genuine friendship isn't supposed to work like a customer-service line where someone only contacts you when they need assistance. Checking on someone doesn't have to take much effort. Even a simple “How are you?” can mean a lot when it comes from someone who genuinely cares.

Of course, needing help from friends is completely normal. That's part of friendship. The problem is when the only time someone remembers you is when they need something from you.

So here's the question:

Have you ever had someone who only remembers you when they need something? What happened?

Sort:

Me llamó la atención ese “Hey brooo! Long time! How are you? ❤️😂”, parece sacado de una conversación de cocina cuando alguien pide la receta. ¿Te pasó que después de ayudar con una comida la gente desaparece hasta la próxima urgencia? probé y quedó genial.
