Today I will review the Central Shaheed Minar built on a land of about one bigha on the banks of Sonadighi in Rajshahi and share the details of its construction period. The newly built Shaheed Minar on the banks of Sonadighi in Rajshahi is known as the Rajshahi Central Shaheed Minar.

Rajshahi, located on the banks of the Padma River, is one of the cleanest, quietest and traditional tourist cities in Bangladesh, known as the Silk City and the Mango City. The historical monuments, silk industry, and the picturesque environment of the banks of the Padma fascinate tourists. The main attractions of this city are the Barendra Museum, Puthia Rajbari, T-dam and Rajshahi University Campus. Another historical place in Rajshahi city is the recently built Rajshahi Central Shaheed Minar.

The Central Shaheed Minar was inaugurated in the early hours of February 21, 2024, in the Sonadighi intersection area of ​​Rajshahi city, on the premises of the old Survey Institute. This Central Shaheed Minar ends the long wait of the people of Rajshahi. It has been built following the architectural style of the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka.

Rajshahi Zilla Parishad implemented this project, spending about 78 million in bdt price . The foundation stone of this minaret was laid on 16 December 2020. It is a permanent and aesthetic structure modeled after the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka. It was opened to the public in the early hours of 21 February 2024.

The first Shaheed Minar of the Language Movement was built on 22 February 1952 in the Rajshahi College Muslim hostel, but it was demolished by the then Pakistani government. For a long time, there was no single central Shaheed Minar in Rajshahi. This new minar is now being used as the main center for language and cultural practice in Rajshahi.

In the empty spaces of the Shaheed Minar premises, flower trees of different species and different colors have been planted in rows. The Rajshahi University campus, Rajshahi College and RUET campus, surrounded by greenery, are very beautiful and scenic places. Along with these, the Central Shaheed Minar has now become a scenic spot for the people of Rajshahi. A large crowd of people can be seen in the Central Shaheed Minar premises from the afternoon. People come from far and wide to enjoy the pleasant environment and the beauty of the scenic spot.
