Shah Makhdum Airport, Rajshahi.

Today I will share with you Shah Makhdum Airport located in my hometown of Rajshahi. I will share more detailed information about Shah Makhdum Airport in my review post. It is located in Noahata, about 10 kilometers north of the center of Rajshahi city, next to the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway.

Shah Makhdum Airport is a domestic airport located in Rajshahi, northwestern Bangladesh. Named after the Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Makhdum Rupos, the airport began operations in 1984. The environment around the airport is pleasant and full of greenery. The airport is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.

Currently, regular domestic flights operate from here. Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines mainly operate flights between Dhaka and Rajshahi. The runway length of Shah Makhdum Airport is 1801 meters. There is a development project for modernization and upgradation of the airfield ground lighting system, including asphalt concrete over-laying work on the runway.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines operate regular flights from Shah Makhdum Airport to Dhaka. Flights usually operate from morning to evening. Flight schedules for Shah Makhdum to Dhaka route:

Apart from passenger transport, this airport is used for pilot training. Several aviation training academies or pilot training schools, including Galaxy Flying Academy, operate here and small training aircraft take off and land regularly. Shah Makhdoom Airport ensures all kinds of modern arrangements for flight safety. Passengers can enter the airport with their luggage safely.

Shah Makhdum Airport has a huge parking facility, the parking lease is renewed every year by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh is depositing the lease price of the lessee and the source tax and VAT as per the government rules to the government treasury. All vehicles and passengers that stay for more than five minutes after dropping off will have to pay the parking fee.
