Another Side of Jack; Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting
I grew up with the understanding that a Jack of all trades, is master of none...
I really didn't have a liking for the saying because I knew for sure how much of a jack I was, and yesterday at work, another side of the jack surfaced in the early hours of the day.
We had just started the day's work; the task was simple and straight to the point: cut the cement-mulled balusters, move them to their new location, where they will be used to beautify the walls as U-shaped designed pilers.
Our angle grinder with a concrete cutting disc was ready. We had an extension cable and a 3kW petrol generator to supply the power.
The setup was fixed and the generator was running, but the grinder was acting dead when its trigger was squeezed.
What is wrong?
The foreman asked if the generator was still outputting power. One of the workers wondered about the connections. Another guy mentioned the cable issue we had last time.
At this point, their questions activated my dormant troubleshooting instincts, so I went for my multimeter, because it was the only one who could provide safe answers to all those questions.
Troubleshooting
I divided the whole system into 3 units: the generator, the extension cable and the grinder itself.
It was a lot easier to check the extension cable, so I decided to tarcle it first with a continuity test. I got the multimeter set and got a loud disapointing beep. The beep meant the cable was ok but I had wished the fault was from the cable, because it was the least expensive to fix or replace out of the 3.
With the extension cable out of the picture, the generator's output is the next easiest to diagnose. The expected output is 240 volts of alternating current. So I set the multimeter to AC 400v Max range.
With an output of 214 Volts of alternating current, the generator was exonerated beyond any doubts, resting all the suspicion on the angle grinder.
At this point, I called for another angle grinder, which helped in the advancement of the day's task.
I now had more time to troubleshoot the angle grinder. I opened and inspected the brushes, checked the trigger mechanism and traced its continuity. The fault was a burnt power cable.
Conclusion
Going back to that classic idiom. I found out that the version I was used to was an incomplete version. The full version says; Jack of all trades, master of none, often times better than master of one.
Did you know that the jack of all trades has a full version, and in the full version the jack is the hero
With this, I can comfortably identify as a versatile jack armed with several skills that enhance productivity and efficiency.
