What was the act of kindness you experienced or witnessed?

My sandals had torn off beyond repair, I mostly wear it with ankara outfit.

Since it was totally spoilt, I switched to my palm rubber footwear, it was rubber and it didn't fit so well with ankara wear. All this while I was wearing it, I felt bad and I didn't have money to replace it. But I had no choice. So I swallowed my shyness and told myself "better days ahead."

My rubber footwear was manageable though. I didn't know someone have been watching my rubber footwear with ankara, and had something in mind to do about it.

My story changed when he gifted me a brand new pair of sandals.

Who showed you this kindness?

My Christian brother and friend showed me this kindness. He use to notice my ankara outfit doesn't match my rubber footwear. He said nothing but acted on my need.

When and where did it happen?

It was evening after sunset. The weather was cool as I happily walked home from our midweek Christian meeting.

I decided to branch and check on him; the friend that gifted me the sandals. As I got there; in his room, he moved straight to his wardrobe, brought out a bag and handed over to me, he said: "Check if it will fit you."

I unwrap the package and behold it was a brand new pair of sandals. I was just smiling while putting it on. My better days has finally arrived. I thanked God.

How did it affect you emotionally, mentally, financially, or spiritually?

Emotionally, I now I wear my sandals about confidently. The shame varnish and I was happy because I felt loved.

Mentally, my thoughts about better days has changed. I now see, better days can come even when I less expect it.

Did this experience inspire you to be more kind to others? Explain

Yes it did inspire. The friend that gifted me the sandals was not wealthy, but he still gave from the little he had. That act really touched me and I thought: If he could notice me and act towards my need without asking, then I have no excuse to do same for others.

My friend's actions taught me that kindness is not all about having heaven and earth, even sharing the little we have can go a long way to help a person in need.

My Conclusion

Kindness comes from the heart, it's opens doors to greatness. Truly, there's is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.
