If you were given full authority for one year in your community or country, what is the first issue you would address?

Good governance, justice and the welfare of the people are the main forces for the development and progress of a state. If I were given the responsibility of managing the state of Bangladesh for one year, my first goal would be to improve the quality of life of the common people of the country and build a corruption-free Bangladesh. Corruption is the biggest obstacle to the development of Bangladesh. If I got the responsibility of the state, I would first take strict action against corruption. To ensure transparency in government offices, I would have increased digital services, zero tolerance policy against bribery and irregularities and exemplary punishment against the corrupt. This will restore public confidence and create accountability in the governance of the state. Many people in Bangladesh are still deprived of basic rights such as education, medical care, housing and clean water. If I was in charge of the state, I would have built advanced educational institutions in remote areas, ensured quality treatment in government hospitals and introduced low-cost or free medical services for poor people.

Unemployment is a major problem in our country. I used to provide skill development training for youth, technical education and easy credit facility to small and medium entrepreneurs. It will increase employment and strengthen the country's economy. I believe that the future of a nation depends on education. Therefore, I worked to modernize the education system, strengthen moral education and make students humane and patriotic. Ensuring justice is one of the responsibilities of the state. I would have made the necessary reforms to make the judiciary swift, independent and impartial. Besides, I would have strengthened the social security program for the poor, old, disabled and women of the society. A year may not be much, but with the right thinking, goodwill and effective planning, many positive changes can be initiated. If I were given the responsibility of the state for a year, I would not abuse the power, but I would take the service of the people as the greatest duty of life. a beautiful,My dream and goal was to build a well-governed and corruption-free Bangladesh.

Why did you choose this issue over others?

I strongly feel that corruption is the root of all the problems of our country. As long as corruption cannot be suppressed from Bangladesh, real development is not possible. Corruption not only causes economic damage, it also destroys people's morals, undermines trust in the state and creates inequality in society. So if I was given the opportunity to solve any problem for the development of the country, I would give priority to the fight against corruption. Due to corruption, the development projects of the country are not implemented properly. A large part of the money allocated for roads, educational institutions, hospitals or government services is wasted. As a result, the common people are deprived of the services they deserve and the progress of the country slows down. Especially the poor and middle class people are the most affected by corruption. If corruption can be curbed effectively, then proper utilization of state resources will be ensured. The pace of development in education, health, agriculture and industry will increase manifold. If government services are easy and transparent, people will not have to pay bribes, suffering will also be reduced. At the same time, people's confidence in the administration will increase. Strong law enforcement, independent judiciary and accountable administration are very important to fight corruption. Besides, increasing citizen awareness, spreading moral education and independent role of media can also play an important role in preventing corruption. If we can build a social movement against corruption, it will become a strong resistance not only legally, but also morally. Finally, fighting corruption is not the work of a single person, it is a national responsibility. But this task is not impossible if there is honest leadership and firm decision. If we all stand together against corruption, Bangladesh will surely prosper and become a just,Will become a prosperous and self-respecting state.

What is that one difficult decision you would have to make?

To move forward in a state, institution or personal life, sometimes difficult decisions have to be made. Such decisions are not easy, as they involve emotions, relationships, interests and future risks. However, to move in the right direction, the most important thing is to take tough decisions. In my opinion, one of the tough decisions I have to take is to take a strong stand against corruption, regardless of one's identity, power or influence. This decision is difficult, because corruption often involves powerful individuals, institutions or groups. Taking action against them risks obstruction, criticism, and even personal harm. But it is essential to take this decision in the interest of the country. The biggest challenge while taking this difficult decision is to ignore emotions and stress. If a relative, friend or acquaintance is involved in corruption, still stand for justice.

Because once concessions are made, justice becomes questionable and corruption becomes stronger. There are many positives to this difficult decision. It sends a clear message to the society that no one is above the law. Confidence is created among common people, faith in the state increases and honest people are encouraged. In the long term, it plays an important role in the country's development, economic progress and social justice. Finally, a difficult decision is not a loss decision; Rather, it is often the most correct and necessary decision. Such decisions are possible if you have courage, integrity and foresight. welfare of the country,I will not shy away from making these difficult decisions if necessary to protect people's rights and the interests of future generations.

How would you explain this decision to people who disagree with you?

When an important decision is taken, especially on matters of anti-corruption or national interest, naturally not everyone will agree. Disagreement is part of a democratic society. But it is very important and responsible behavior to explain the decision to those who disagree with my decision. Because without explanation, misunderstandings, rumors, and disputes may increase. First, I will calmly and logically explain the motives behind my decision. I will try to convey that this decision is not taken for personal interest but for the overall welfare of the country. Clearly explaining the goals of the decision, the long-term benefits and the benefits to the people will make many people think differently. Second, it is very important to listen carefully to those who disagree. Explaining the decision without listening to their objections, fears or concerns becomes one-sided.

If the discussion shows that there is room for reasonable correction, then accepting it is also a sign of positive leadership. Third, the decision should be explained with real examples and facts. The importance of the decision becomes more clear when highlighting the successful experiences, statistics and practical results of other countries in the fight against corruption. Reason prevails over emotion.Fourth, I will try to convey that the decision is beneficial to all in the long run even if there are temporary inconveniences. Sometimes change is hard at the beginning, but that paves the way for future growth. This truth needs to be presented with patience and respect. Finally, explaining the decision to those who disagree with me is not weakness; Rather, it is the power of leadership. open discussion,If decisions can be explained in a manner that maintains transparency and mutual respect, opposition is greatly reduced and national unity is fostered.

Hi @abubakar121 welcome to thinking and ideas week 1

My Observation:

Changing the life of the common people is good, and fighting corruption is also a good start. But what if the common people are the corruption itself, what could be done?

Fighting corruption isn't easy and it needs full force and attention and the right people to work with.
