Lower your expectations (and if possible, just don't have any).

Whether on a personal or professional level, one of the worst feelings a human being can harbor is that which is focused on events that make us create expectations. The response to a job interview, approval of an idea from someone above you in a "food chain", and even self-validation that many people seek to feel good about themselves are just a few examples that illustrate the central theme of the entire text.

Perhaps I'm talking nonsense when I say that no one can live without harboring some expectation. In a way, even if inadvertently, I think that we are all always waiting for something or even someone. While we continue planning our next steps, our expectations are there... By our side, reminding us that we need to deal with them in the best way possible so as not to be "swallowed" by them all.

Therefore, expecting less than what may not become more is not exactly a pessimistic view of who we are or what we want; in fact, it is a realistic view of what we need to understand as our priorities. Once defined, they are precisely what end up motivating us to fight for everything we want and for who we want to be. This cycle is continuous and changeable, giving us the opportunity for optimization at different levels.

I know I would need to write a longer (and possibly more "philosophical") text to better solidify my idea, but I think everything written in the previous paragraphs manages to "draw" well the lines I wanted to express here. All our expectations are part of who we are and what we want (within the most diverse contexts)... And since they are part of something much larger and more complex, it is necessary to know how to "manage" them.
