Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week124: What I Think About The Book Reading Culture
Greetings to everyone, it's my pleasure to participate in this wonderful contest.
Yes, of course. I believe this 100%, not because I guess it can, but from my personal experience. There are a lot of books you can read that can change your life—not just for a moment, but personally for the better. Books are more than just stories; they are tools that can teach you lessons, shape your thinking, and guide you to make better decisions in life. From self-discipline to understanding human nature, books contain knowledge that you can apply to yourself in meaningful ways.
Yes, I have successfully completed reading a book I picked up. One book I remember during our UTME examination period is called To Kill a Monkey. The book was very interesting, and I learned a lot from it beyond its use for exams. The story is about two friends who struggled together when they had nothing but eventually became billionaires. However, the older friend later betrayed the second one. From this book, I learned that no matter how close you are to someone, how many memories you share, or how long you have known them, they can still betray you. It is bitter, but it is also a hard truth about life. This lesson made me more cautious in relationships and more aware of the realities of trust.
There are several books that have been beneficial to me. One is, of course, To Kill a Monkey, which I mentioned earlier, and I will encourage each and everyone here on this platform to read. Another book I would recommend is Brother’s Indeed, and also Bitter Truth. These books are very interesting and full of knowledge. They teach you lessons that you might not even expect to learn. Reading these books has given me insights into human behavior, life challenges, and practical wisdom that has helped me personally and can help anyone who reads them.
Books are more than just a source of information; they are tools that can genuinely change your life. From my experience, reading has taught me lessons about trust, ambition, relationships, and personal growth. The stories and experiences in books provide knowledge and perspectives that you cannot always get from other sources. I encourage everyone to pick up a book, immerse themselves in it, and apply its lessons in their daily lives. The impact of a book is lasting, and the benefits are real.
