THE DIARYGAME: 19-1-2026, AKICORP SETS PACE IN INNOVATIVE WORK PLANNING, GAINS STATEWIDE RECOGNITION

The Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP) has emerged as a leading innovator in work planning and project management, with its strategies now being admired across State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AKICORP, Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob, disclosed this during the Corporation’s monthly fasting and prayer session held 19th Jan, 2026. He said AKICORP’s work plan approach, integrates advanced technology and collaborative strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.

According to him, the innovative framework has been acknowledged by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD , Noting that it is in line with the ARISE Agenda as its streamlines operations, improve resource allocation and ensure timely delivery of projects without compromising quality.

Representing the MD/CEO, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on AgriBusiness, Pastor Godwin Ukwat, described AKICORP as a training ground for professionals who play key roles in the development of various sectors within Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.

He noted that the corporation contributes to economic growth and investment promotion in the state, with a strong emphasis on capacity building through training and development initiatives. Pastor Ukwat added that AKICORP’s commitment to excellence has made the Governor proud, explaining that the corporation serves as the holding company for all state government investment and the State Investment Promotion Agency (IPA).He charged staff to remain proactive, assuring them that outstanding performance would always attract recognitions and rewards.

He further highlighted the corporation’s achievements in staff recognitions and promotions last year, including recent appointments such as Mr. Joseph Timothy, who now serves as Personal Assistant to the Governor on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Documentation.

An exhortation titled “Returning Glory to God,” drawn from Isaiah 42:8, was delivered by the Director of Human Resources and General Administration, Mr. Ekpedeme Sambo. He urged staff to give thanks to God as the sole source of the successes recorded by the corporation.

Mr. Sambo referenced recent promotions and appointments within the AKICORP family, including Pastor Godwin Ukwat’s appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on AgriBusiness, Member of the state Agriculture and food security committee InR,DN. Mr. Ofonmbuk Nelson, Director of Agriculture as the Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Agriculture and food security committee. Mr. Joseph Timothy as Personal Assistant to the Governor on ICT and Documentation. The session featured prayers for AKICORP, its staff, Akwa Ibom State, the Governor and Nigeria. It concluded with the breaking of the fast, accompanied by songs of praise, thanksgiving and testimonies.
