What is that one thing you wish you could change in your past?

Hello steemian I am @christabella from Nigeria, I want to write on how I could have changed my past. First I could have like to change my lifestyle for the better which is one of the best and big decisions. Also I could have loved to be consistent in upgrading on how to live everyday by fixing my daily routine such improving my discipline and focusing on how to get successful in life.

Taking care of my body like eating more real and good food such as fruits, vegetable and drinking enough water and participating in sports Can also help improve my lifestyle, limitations of negative thoughts and comparisons can also help me focus on growth, read and learn new skills and also surround myself with positive influences.A better lifestyle is built, not rushed. Start small, stay consistent, and your life will gradually improve.

Why do you wish you could change it? What went wrong?

Wanting to change my lifestyle usually comes from a clear realization, something isn't working the way it should. It's is less about regret and more about awareness. I changed it because something went wrong like certain habits, start influencing me negatively like I always felt so lazy to work for the better of my tomorrow, things started costing me and I started noticing I was not supposed to be lazy with my life.

What likely went wrong was rarely a big mistake, it's usually small things I did consistently like prioritizing comfort over growth example procrastination and distractions. Things that also went wrong was lack of structure and discipline in daily routines, negative influences and environment that normalize bad habits. Also lastly ignoring long term consequences for short term pleasure not having clear goals were things that likely went wrong with my previous lifestyle.

Stay consistent even when motivation drops. Lifestyle change isn't one big decisions, it is a series of small, repeated choices that slowly shift your direction. Changing your lifestyle means adjusting your daily habits, mindset, and environment so your life becomes healthier, more productive, and more stable over time. It doesn’t happen in one big move it’s built step by step.

What lesson did you learn from that experience?

From the experience, trying to change my lifestyle, the main lesson is that real change doesn't happen instantly, it happens through small, repeated choices. Discipline matters more than motivation, motivation comes and goes, but discipline is what keeps you going even when you don't feel like it. Small steps beat big plans trying to change everything at once usually leads to failure. Small improvement like waking up earlier or reducing distractions stick better.

Consistency builds identify when you repeat good habits daily, you don't just do them you become that kind of person, failure is part of the process you will fall back sometimes. The real difference is whether you restart or quit. In short, lifestyle change is less about a sudden transformation and more about building a better version of yourself one habit at a time.

How has that moment shaped the person you are today

The moment I build self awareness, I started seeing my own mistakes, habit, or choices more clearly. They can also strengthen resilience teaching me how to recover instead of giving up when things go wrong. For some people, those moments become a reset point, where they start choosing differently in life, like changing habits, friends, or mindset.

But the real impact isn’t just the event itself, it’s what you decide to do after it. Two people can go through the same situation and end up completely different based on the lessons they take from it. The moment of changing your lifestyle usually becomes a kind of wake up point in a person’s life. It also builds awareness. Therefore I invite @bossj23, @blessed and @peacemike to participate in the contest.
