"SC-S31/W1-Movie Magic |Movie About Choices (Black Panther)

The movie which I choose is the Black Panther. If you have watch it, you might understand that one decision or action which one character make change the whole story.

Overview about the movie is just that after his father's death, T'Challa did well to returns home to Wakanda to inherit his father's throne.However, after a while a very powerful and strong enemy related to his family threatens to attack his nation.

For this movie calledBlack Panther, the turning and heartbreaking point was when T’Challa just simply agreed to fight Killmonger for throne. However, the tradition in Wakanda do says that if a person has a royal blood, he can challenge king on the throne. Killmonger showed, he said he has the right, and T’Challa didn't ignored him. He agree to fight him. That decision was what scattered everything.

Because of that fight, Killmonger nearly take over Wakanda. He burned the sacred herb which give the king power, he plan to use Wakanda weapons to scatter the world. If T’Challa didn't agree to fight him, maybe he would have find another way to handle him. But once he agree, it's life and death matter. That single choice was what change the whole movie.

However if I was in T’Challa shoe, I could have reason very well before I jump into the fight. Tradition is important, but sometimes you can bend it small so far that it won't harm but save your people. I would have called council of elders, sit down and reason the problem with them. I would have tell them that this challenge is not ordinary, because Killmonger don't just want the throne, he wants to scatter the Wakanda way of life.

Instead of to fight straight, I would have use wisdom. Maybe I would lock Killmonger first, investigate his background, and show the people that his plan is a destruction. That way, I could have protect the Wakanda without risking throne fight which nearly kill me.

Well T’Challa choice has a good intention because he was following the tradition. In Wakanda, tradition is sacred. If the king dodge a challenge, people can see it as weakness. So in that sense, it was a good choice to him.

But for me looking it from another angle, the choice feels wrong a bit. Because T’Challa didn't reason the consequence vert well. He agree to fight without plan, and that nearly cost Wakanda everything. Sometimes, to be leader don't just mean you have to follow the tradition blindly. You suppose to balance tradition with wisdom.

So I will say the choice was right for culture, but wrong for survival. It shows that even leaders can make mistake when they try to please people.

This film teach me that decision is sometimes heavy. One choice can affect not just me, but everybody which look up to me. In today's world we all know how leaders make decision which will affect the whole nation. Sometimes they do follow tradition or constitution, but they don't reason the consequence very well.

Therefore the lessons from this movie is just as follows. Just ask yourself:

• This choice will benefit everybody or just me?

• If I follow tradition, will it protect people or put them in danger?

• If I bend the rule small, will it save life or cause a bigger problem?

Life is like that. Every day we face junction. The road that we choose can lead us to a better place or problems. Black Panther shows clear example of how one decision can change everything. T’Challa agree to fight Killmonger, and that choice nearly scatter Wakanda. If it was me, I would have use wisdom to find another way. The choice feel right culturally, but wrong practically.
